Cherry Picker Fitting Photo

Fitting 33

Fitting 33

Perhaps a bit of overkill, but here is a cherry picker with the fitting team in action, close to the ground (maybe -too- close to the ground?).

Needless to say the fitters followed the prescribed safety protocols, they are wearing the required safety gear and they are harnessed to the cherry picker.

The that they are erecting is for a client, ConocoPhillips, and they will last many years.

A great fairly close-up picture of a wayfinding sign, this clearly shows how detailed some wayfinding signs can be. The nature of allows us to print to a very fine detail, enabling wayfinding signs such as this one to be very accurate.

The printing itself is applied to an sheet, then fixed firmly to the wall.

The map itself has real images of locations and pointers to them on the map, and you can also see the logo in the bottom right corner.

This large vinyl sign is specifically created to follow the balcony that it rests on. This makes it a good medium to print onto especially for wide format printing, where it shows off how well large prints can look.

This example of such a sign is a large sign using wide format printing, although not unique, is a good way to get a message across, specifically in large open areas.

Indoor Scaffolding

Fitting 32

Fitting Sign 32

We work hard for our safety record, and sometimes fitting signs can be a challenge especially in areas where people are still walking and moving around. Times can be demanding so that signs must be fitted before people start work, or in this case here, in a place that is difficult to get to.

The scaffolding is erected carefully, avoiding damage to the area, but with safety in mind. Other pictures from this series show the scaffolding being put up and from other directions but this picture shows it in situ when the job has been finished and the vertical is in place.

Notice that the area immediately around the scaffolding is marked off with tape and bollards, to ensure passers-by do not hit the scaffolding or injure themselves, or put themselves in any danger.

Is Twitter Overrated for a Small Business?

I won’t say that is wonderful, sing it’s praises and use nothing else, just for the sake of it. I’ll just say that with such a large audience, it’s an audience that a small business should consider taking advantage of.

Persuading management of the virtues of Twitter might be difficult in many cases, but luckily here at GRS, management listens to what others have to say. Looking at new technologies as opportunities is a good sign (forgive the pun). I might draw the line at Facebook or MySpace for us though…

Given that Twitter seems to be more of a social diatribe of a personal nature rather than a business nature, does make it less attractive. After all, it’s only worthwhile if it generates business, or at least generates traffic/interest in us/our website.

Currently we are using it to announce blog posts and website updates, rather than as an engagement tool for conversation. It seems the best policy for us at the moment, but if anyone has ideas, we are open to them!
