Tactile signing is a common means of communication used by people with both a
sight and hearing impairment, which is based on a standard system of Deaf manual
signs.
Although we display the white on a blue background and the black on a white
background tactile signs, these are not the only two colour
schemes that GRS Sign Company Limited produces for tactile signs.

From temporary signs to long lasting Class 1 reflective signs,
aluminium signs give
the strength, flexibility and long term wear to make them look good and be cost
effective. Aluminium gives a good base for corporate identity and advertising
signs. 11g aluminium road signs are made where necessary to comply with
Road Traffic Regulations.
Aluminium composite sheet is also used by the company. This is two layers
of aluminium with a plastic centre. Benefits are strength, light weight, resists
expansion and contraction and has a durable weatherproof face for long life.

GRS Sign Company Limited - The New Building
The new building starts, appropriately, with the bulldozer doing its work and
clearing off the land. As you can see in the background, the old GRS building
is not too far away.
Incidentally, the sign you see on the old building is a
profile sign,
also known as a contour cut sign.
Here's a better picture of the old building in the background, with the
bulldozer clearing away the turf and topsoil.
Here comes a layer of gravel, the picture taken through the protective fencing
around the building site, and again, the old GRS building in the background.
Now the heavy work starts, with a heavy lifter putting the main bracing columns
into place. Another good shot of the old GRS building in the background, with
the profile sign
clearly visible.
Now things are starting to come together. The framework for the new GRS building
is in place, all the columns, braces and supports are all in and in this picture
you can see the first layers of bricks starting to show.
On-site now, a close-up picture of the developing building. This shows the
internal structure breeze blocks starting to show for the internal walls, with
the gravel base pushed back a little bit to show even deeper.
In the background there are some more of the Industrial Estate buildings, but
not the old GRS building in this one :)
This picture was taken on a bright sunny day, on-site as progress continues.
Here we can see part of the roofing completed, even before the internal
walls are really starting to show. Parts of the outer brick walls however,
are beginning to build up to look like what we all know and love now.
This is a close up picture on-site of the outer brick walls starting to reach
midrif height, with some of the window bays already being accounted for (the
dips in the brick wall).
Another close up picture taken on-site revealing the protective fencing around
the outside, and also showing the protective fence along the edges of the roof
as they finish it. The brick wall is really starting to show here.
Ah-ha! Here we are, the familiar green cladding of the new GRS building. You
can also see the brickwork is finished, as is the roofing, and of all things,
the belltower at the top!
Here's a close up picture of the belltower, a defining bit of architecture
for the Industrial Estate. As you'll see below, the GRS building does set
itself apart from the other buildings in the area, with a manicured landscape,
a fence that matches the iconic green of the building, and a clean and stylish
building design.
Another picture of the building just before the tarmac goes down, the
outside is all done, even the belltower, and this shot manages to capture
all of it, even some of the building equipment.
And another picture of the building before the tarmac gets laid, and this
one even further out taken on a beautifully sunny day. Plenty of builders
still at work of course.
The GRS foundation stone, laid in Summer 2004.
The tarmac is down, cars are already parked, and people already working
at the new building. Welcome to GRS Sign Company Limited!
Here is one of our own modular signs on the front fence, welcoming
everyone to GRS Sign Company Limited, the designer and manufacturer
of quality signs.
This is another GRS modular sign, this time on the front of the
building showing people where they need to go: Sales Reception, Goods Inward,
Despatch, or Visitors.
