This ultimately bespoke sign is what is termed a ‘tray’, but is constructed entirely from aluminium composite, a tough substrate material.

The printing area you can see is wide format printed, and has a further vinyl layer on top to protect the printing from the elements (which undoubtedly it will encounter being where it is).

Not every sign that you see or that we produce is just a bit of flat aluminium composite – here you can see that functionality also plays a big part in some signage.

This particular bespoke signage has a variety of different sign types involved, with the wide format printed vinyl background on an aluminium composite backboard, the clipframes that holds the various bits of A4 paper, and the perspex A4 holders along the bottom including the perspex lockbox, all of which are highly bespoke.

The sign itself is mounted onto the wall using heavy-duty aluminium locators.

Acrylic Sign 10

This polished acrylic sign, a type of bespoke sign. Utilising several methods of construction, this is primarily built using vinyl, cut to fit perfectly.

There is one or two elements of wide format printing in the sign, specifically for one or two of the logos but it is minimal.

Having these kinds of signs is a prestige symbol, they enhance an area and are pleasing to look at (more so than other types of sign).

The great diversity of this kind of sign is it’s real strength. It can be used in so many circumstances, and this one you see in the photograph is just one style, a professional attention-grabbing image.

The logo is clean, the wording is simple and unadorned, this kind of sign can be placed almost anywhere indoors, and in some circumstances outdoors as well providing that it is well cared for.

The image and wording is created using reverse cut vinyl, and then the entire sign is fixed to the wall using locators.

Polished Acrylic Sign 7

It is very tempting to say that this is an educational or university sign; it is, but more importantly it is a style of sign that we call a polished acrylic sign. This is a prestige style of sign, a sign that is designed and created to impress.

This particular polished acrylic sign is designed to do more than to impress – it tells the viewer what services are available in the Student Centre where the sign is installed.

The lettering for this polished acrylic sign is created using vinyl text that is reverse cut and applied to the back side of the sign.

Unlike many of the wayfinding signs that you see, this one in the image is an example where we have used wide format printing to print a vinyl face to show the graphical logo rather than just simple text.

The projecting sign itself is created from aluminium composite.

Many signs, those that are at the forefront of the boundary between the public and a business, have to make an impact or a statement, as well as convey information contained on them. The image shows one such bespoke sign that is in the final stages of installation.

This large monolith sign has an ingenious lighting system built into the top cover that illuminates the entire sign face. This bespoke part of the sign is something that sets it apart from others like it (which are uncommon).

The face is created using vinyl lettering.

The base of this large sign is firmly anchored into concrete to prevent it from falling over or being stolen.

Many road signs are simple and plain, but deliberately designed to be like that as the most people possible should be able to read them. This bespoke sign however, is in a private area, and so can be a bit more unique.

The sign is created using wide format printing which is then applied to a thick piece of aluminium. It is covered by a protective layer of matt vinyl for anti-vandalism purposes.

This beautiful bespoke sign was created for the Leicester Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit (you can see the lettering in black vinyl). The back panel is mirrored aluminium composite, with the text created from vinyl as mentioned.

The central design that stands off from the mirrored section is also aluminium composite, with some perspex for the heart design.
