Although this can be achieved by other means, such as vinyl text on modularized slatz, here is an example of a wayfinding sign that uses wide format printed vinyl onto an aluminium monoform backing. This is then secured to posts, and the posts are dug into the ground and secured with concrete.
Clearly from the wide format printed vinyl sign itself you can see that it is an educational sign (University sign) from the University of Salford, but that is also a corporate symbol and registered trademark.

While there are lots of different kinds of vinyl, and many styles that can be achieved using vinyl, frosted vinyl can be used for several purposes in one application. Here are two pictures of the same place and note the great difference between day and night:
While providing a great deal of privacy it also lets people indoors see out instead of simply blocking the view with an opaque thick vinyl. The corporate logos are visible in both conditions and appear prominent in both conditions.
This is not just what frosted vinyl can do of course, but this highlights one example of where it is really impressive.
