To be honest, most engraved labels are functional and ubiquitous – we take them for what they are and no more than that. In fact I dare say most of us read the information and forget the label itself after a minute or two.
But isn’t that the point?
These engraved labels convey the information and that is all they’re supposed to do. They’re not supposed to be fancy, polished, decorative, or anything more than a label.
Assuming you know this, you can appreciate them for the work that has gone into them – the font is clear and legible, the labels are unobtrusive and functional, and they come in a wide variety of colours and materials. Perfect for so many jobs!

Although brass plaques are something that we do a lot of, this one stands out because of the additional colours. The engraving we normally do is lettering which we paint-fill black, but here there was some extra additions in the form of the flower.
The plaques that we do, no matter what material we create them from be it brass, aluminium, stainless steel etc., are usually fitted to a wooden plinth. Customers get a choice of material for the plinth from a variety of woods.
They look good when mounted on a wall and last for many years.

A good picture of one of the engraving machines at work, engraving a brass plaque. The technology has come a long way but still has a significant human element in the programming aspect and setting the machines up and so on.

This is a large plaque and plinth with vibrant colours – the engraving section in the brushed aluminium was then paint filled with the colours. Like many engraved signs we work on, this design was provided for us and with just a bit of tweaking was ready for the customer.

This engraved sign is made from brushed aluminium placed into a wooden plinth. The engraved sign also includes the corporate education logo, has been paint-filled in colour. The main text is paint-filled with a durable black.

This anodised aluminium engraved sign is for a local nature spot, and attached to the stone block with tamper-proof screws. The anodised aluminium has been stained to a bronze colour.

This engraved sign is made from brushed aluminium placed into a wooden plinth. The engraved section at the top, featuring the corporate logo, has been paint-filled in colour as has the EU logo at the bottom. The main text is paint-filled with a durable deep blue.

Most of the no smoking signs that GRS makes are constructed using aluminium composite or hard foam, in varying thicknesses. These can be in different shapes and sizes of course, and some have rounded corners, and most of them have a clear vinyl face on top.
Engraved No Smoking Sign
This one however is more of a specialist no smoking sign. Made from aluminium it is more expensive of course and instead of vinyl or wide format printing, it is an engraved sign, and gives a more upscale appearance to the no smoking prohibition. Perhaps a customer wants a sign that will stand the test of time (and weather) if it is placed outside?
It goes without saying that if it is placed outside it should be cleaned regularly and maintained but this sign should easily last several years. It might need a touch-up every so often but GRS also provides that service.
As mentioned this is an engraved sign – most people think of engraved signs as being in brass or bronze, to signify a business premises or a person. Although you should consider this as a bespoke sign, a one-off sign for one particular business, we can do exactly the same thing for anyone else.
Finally, these aluminium signs are fitted with security screws.
