Another vehicle type came in today for some vehicle livery that might look familiar if you’ve seen our vehicle livery page. On the top of the small pictures you’ll see a ‘JPM Hire’ vehicle, the company has changed it’s name and now is JPM Agricultural, and so needed some new vehicle livery on their new van.

This is nearly the same as the older model, with vinyl text and wide format printed tractor.

The colours remain the same and the longevity of the vinyl stays the same, it’s just the name that has changed for them.

Vehicle livery isn’t always onto a nice flat surface on the side of the car or van; in this case you can clearly see this was in a place that was a little more challenging.

Using wide format printing to achieve the logo and text this also has a protective layer of clear vinyl applied on top to ensure that it lasts.

There are many vehicles that have vehicle livery applied without a logo, they just have text on. The picture shows an example with both.

All of the vehicle livery in question is created using coloured vinyl, and the business name has a burgundy background with a dark grey layered on top.

Both of these colours go well on the light silvery colour of the van, so contrast is a careful consideration when designing and creating vehicle liveries.

The light silvery colour of this new van in the picture contrasts very well with the vehicle livery applied, especially the large business name.

The separate text underneath is black, to both contrast with the van colour and the logo colour. Both are applied using cut vinyl, but also note that there are logos on the side door and the back, which are created using wide format printed vinyl, where the design is printed onto vinyl.

This kind of vehicle livery takes a little longer to apply, but from the picture you can see that the visual display is very impressive.

Vehicle livery is applied onto a vehicle for a variety of reasons; perhaps it’s to accentuate the curves on a car (go fast stripes etc.), maybe it’s just for colour reasons, or possibly to advertise a business. The last one is the one we usually get, in one form or another, and this one is definitely in that category.

Clearly in this picture you can see what the vehicle livery is for, to advertise the price of the car in a new condition. And that price certainly stands out. That shade of grass green isn’t common, but works really well on this metallic grey, especially with the black border.

You can’t say that you missed what the vehicle livery said!

It isn’t often that mirrored vinyls get used but the one place that we find it more than any other is in the category of vehicle livery. The picture shows quite clearly the kind of impact that this specialised type of vinyl can have.

The vehicle looks really great with the mirrored vinyl and the dark green background, the vinyls really stand out and of course, that’s what the owner of the business wants!

Of course, as you can see, mirrored vinyls everywhere would be superfluous, but here on the business name they stand out well.

It’s not often we get to take a picture like this showing several cars getting done at once. This courtesy fleet is for Thompson and Smith, and had three vehicle livery jobs on at once.

The vinyl is a perfect graphite colour for the lime green cars, and although large enough to show the message isn’t too large to drown the vehicle.

Clear and concise wording can sometimes get the message across far better than an expensive vehicle wrap. In this case here, the ELDC logo is not too intrusive, and the vehicle livery focuses on the important part: the name and the phone number, both of which are easy to read.

Perhaps another important thing to remember is that people don’t see the vehicle stationary all the time, so it needs to be clear. Hopefully for the client, The Embassy Theatre, this will mean more visitors.

Here is some vehicle livery that uses several different materials and styles of use. The lettering and the silhouette figure are obtained using vinyl text and graphics, and have a strong effect on the white van.
