Using wide format printed vinyl placed over a solid 11g aluminium panel this one sign (made of two separate aluminium signs) is going to last many years.

The face has an extra layer of vinyl on the top to help protect it from the elements.

The sign is fixed in place by using two aluminium poles that are concreted into the ground.

As you can clearly see this primary school sign has a very bespoke shape. In the bottom left and bottom right corners of the main sign you can see corporate logos.

This sign is created using large aluminium sheets, cut into shape then the image and lettering achieved by using vinyl text.

With a great deal of information on this wide format printed sign than we might normally see (although this is by no means unusual) this is clearly a unique bespoke sign.

The design is created using powerful desktop computers, then sent to the wide format printer. After that it is applied to the aluminium composite sheet for rigidity and form, then it has a clear matt vinyl layer applied over the top to protect it from the elements. And clearly, sitting where it is, it will need that last layer.

Although this isn’t as fancy as some modular signs can be, you might even say it is understated, it fulfills it’s purpose well by being clear and concise. It doesn’t clutter itself up with many images or make the text too large, and where it is positioned in the front of the library it is something many people will make use of.

The modular nature of the sign is clear, and in this case we replaced some text. The individual slatz are constructed from aluminium and the text is achieved using vinyl.

Clearly of course, this is a wayfinding sign. Although you can only see the top of the foot, it is sitting inside a box with plants in it, to lend it a more acceptable appeal.

Generally speaking self-adhesive vinyl signs are ones that are used indoors, because of the nature of the adhesive needing to be on a dry surface and for the exposure element of the outdoors.

Here, one of the fitters is applying the self-adhesive vinyl to an internal window. These make good use of the width available and can be either subtle (like this one) or obtrusive and really take up the entire window.

Another use of this kind of sign is as a manifestation, abstract images that act as an alert mechanism to the presence of something that we might normally see through, such as a glass door. Such manifestations are usually squares and fairly large and in a block across something like a door.

Vehicle Livery 63

With a large expanse of space to vehicle surface to put vehicle livery onto, it is easy to think only of the non-windowed areas, but here the windows are almost part of the vehicle livery.

The grey and red colours are Hunts‘ own colours of course, but the design mades use of space efficiently, and the overall design is impressive, almost elegant in the sweeping curves that it shows off.

The vinyl is a hardy durable style of vinyl that will stand up to the rigours of the British weather.

Unusually long and large, this PVC banner has been put to great use on the side of a building. The vinyl text and graphics are durable and last well in the outdoors

A large banner fixed to railings this shows how versatile banners can be in where they are positioned. This particular banner is a corporate sign cut from vinyl.

Vehicle Livery 62

An example to show of our own work van vehicle livery – recently we purchased a new van and had the opportunity to do a little alteration to our own vehicle livery – that is, we changed the main text to be mirrored vinyl instead of green.

This is a mixture of vinyl text and wide format printing. Applied very carefully, something like this takes our skilled vinylers several hours to complete.

University Sign 40

A very large university sign for the University of Lincoln this is large aluminium composite tray formed into shape, shipped out and installed on site. The wording comes from delicate mirrored vinyl which is carefully applied and has a great effect on such a large sign like this.
