This more down-to-earth frosted vinyl sign is one of a set displaying what martial arts are available at this particular martial arts school. It is simple in its appearance, but also elegant and informative.

A very unusual and interesting sign this bespoke sign uses the glass divider as the substrate to attach vinyl to either side to create this wonderful privacy effect.

On one side is the black vinyl, with the wide format printing including the logos; and on the other side there is a layer of frosted vinyl to complete the privacy appearance.

Vehicle Livery 68

There are many vehicles that have vehicle livery applied without a logo, they just have text on. The picture shows an example with both.

All of the vehicle livery in question is created using coloured vinyl, and the business name has a burgundy background with a dark grey layered on top.

Both of these colours go well on the light silvery colour of the van, so contrast is a careful consideration when designing and creating vehicle liveries.

The light silvery colour of this new van in the picture contrasts very well with the vehicle livery applied, especially the large business name.

The separate text underneath is black, to both contrast with the van colour and the logo colour. Both are applied using cut vinyl, but also note that there are logos on the side door and the back, which are created using wide format printed vinyl, where the design is printed onto vinyl.

This kind of vehicle livery takes a little longer to apply, but from the picture you can see that the visual display is very impressive.

Many signs are colourful, with deeply thought-out patterns and shapes, or perhaps with large wording to accentuate some offer or something that the sign is positioned next to.

Then there are signs that are unique for other reasons, the main one here being that it is made from mirrored vinyl, in the shape of the logo of the business. Very stylish!

This kind of sign, created from unique mirrored vinyl, can be positioned in places that other signs simply can’t go. You can’t put up a similar aluminium sign on the glass, but this is perfect for the job.

Although the sign doesn’t bestow any special benefits because of being created from mirrored vinyl, it is certainly an eye-catcher!

It isn’t often that mirrored vinyls get used but the one place that we find it more than any other is in the category of vehicle livery. The picture shows quite clearly the kind of impact that this specialised type of vinyl can have.

The vehicle looks really great with the mirrored vinyl and the dark green background, the vinyls really stand out and of course, that’s what the owner of the business wants!

Of course, as you can see, mirrored vinyls everywhere would be superfluous, but here on the business name they stand out well.

We do design, create and manufacture a lot of wide format printed signs, but sometimes they are quite large and interestingly challenging, just like this one.

With strong single colours, such as the dark blue and the lighter blue, the quality has to be picture perfect, and this is one reason we ask for vector-based images rather than bitmaps (see here for our blog entry).

The resulting wide format printed vinyl is clean and clear.

It should be noted that in this case, the printed vinyl is applied to a strong aluminium composite sheet.

This is an interesting bespoke sign because we don’t use a great amount of mirrored vinyl, but when we do it looks really good, very impressive.

The aluminium plate is used as a solid backdrop for the dark grey vinyl that holds the relief cut letters.

The mirrored vinyl itself has to be treated carefully, and applied with some degree of skill. The result truly is a bespoke sign.

There are many kinds of wayfinding sign and the large majority of those placed inside as directories are created using replaceable slatz that can be moved around as needed.

This is the same kind of wayfinding sign but as you can see, it is all one piece. The vinyl lettering is the heart of the wayfinding aspect of the sign.

The sign itself is fixed to the wall using sturdy but simple aluminium locators.
