From temporary signs to long lasting Class 1 reflective signs,
aluminium signs give
the strength, flexibility and long term wear to make them look good and be cost
effective. Aluminium gives a good base for corporate identity and advertising
signs. 11g aluminium road signs are made where necessary to comply with
Road Traffic Regulations.
Aluminium composite sheet is also used by the company. This is two layers
of aluminium with a plastic centre. Benefits are strength, light weight, resists
expansion and contraction and has a durable weatherproof face for long life.

Universities, government buildings, public buildings, to
get people where they want to be quickly and efficiently. Not limited to signs, nor
defined by them, wayfinding does generally however, include signage.

The braille system, devised in 1821 by Louis Braille, is a method
that is widely used by blind people to read and write. Each braille
character or "cell" is made up of six dot positions, arranged in a rectangle
containing two columns of three dots each.
GRS Sign Company Limited follows the established guidelines for braille,
and works closely to ensure the highest quality of work. Read more about our
braille signs, or

GRS Sign Company Limited is accredited as a BS EN
ISO 9001:2000 Company.
We earned the certificate and the accreditation which goes with
it, by showing the DNV assessor that we have a quality system which enables us to
provide our customers with assured quality every time they buy from us.
We earned that accreditation in 1993 and, every year since then, have been
able to demonstrate that we continue to achieve that same high standard.

Tactile Signs
Here is an example of a tactile sign that is probably one
of the most common types you will see. It clearly shows the tactile symbol for an
accessibility-impaired person (the 'wheelchair' symbol), and has the tactile
wording for it too, as well as the braille sign language rasters in place.
The sign itself is constructed using aluminium slatz, with plastic end caps for
aesthetic purposes.
Tactile signs are a common means of communication used by people
with both a sight and hearing impairment, which is based on a standard system.
As can be seen the pictograms, any lettering if there is any, and the associated
braille have raised sections on the sign that can be felt using
fingertips. These are not limited to the colours shown, but the blue background
is popular, as well as being one of the best colour combinations for contrast.
Here is a pure tactile sign without any
braille added
in. This might be used in facilities where there are no blind individuals, but
there may be partially-sighted (and clearly, disabled) people.
This tactile sign is a different colour system, with a white
background with raised black pictogram and lettering. As a rule, the raised
sections of the tactile sign are 1.5mm high, following the
European standards recommended tactile character depth.
Although we display the white on a blue background and the black on a white
background tactile signs, these are not the only two colour
schemes that GRS Sign Company Limited produces for
tactile signs.
