Focus on

It is safe to say that is the standard for the industry today, it is a versatile and pliant metal that when combined with heavy-duty plastics, create a great signage composite.

As well as the flexibility of the material, are a great substrate to place onto, as you can see here in the picture.

Fitting Sign, Protection Included

Here is a picture of one our signs that has just been fitted, but we don’t generally take many of these kinds of pictures – it still has the protective covering on it that came from the workshop.

Sure, bubble wrap is nothing new, but we do like to take care of the signs when they leave the factory to get to the customer, even if we are the ones delivering and doing the fitting ourselves.

Just a quick note: this is an tray with for the writing and symbol.

Safety Gear On, Fitters at Work

Ask anyone who knows us and they will tell you our fitting teams are always wearing the correct safety gear. Protecting their noggins is a primary concern of ours, especially when some of our projects are in building sites.

Here you can see that the fitting team is wearing the right gear, the high-vis jackets, the safety helmets, standing on the scaffolding. Another thing to note is that they put the scaffolding in between the windows, you just know someone would open one if they had.

Cherry Picker Fitting Photo

Perhaps a bit of overkill, but here is a cherry picker with the fitting team in action, close to the ground (maybe -too- close to the ground?).

Needless to say the fitters followed the prescribed safety protocols, they are wearing the required safety gear and they are harnessed to the cherry picker.

The that they are erecting is for a client, ConocoPhillips, and they will last many years.

Indoor Scaffolding

We work hard for our safety record, and sometimes fitting signs can be a challenge especially in areas where people are still walking and moving around. Times can be demanding so that signs must be fitted before people start work, or in this case here, in a place that is difficult to get to.

The scaffolding is erected carefully, avoiding damage to the area, but with safety in mind. Other pictures from this series show the scaffolding being put up and from other directions but this picture shows it in situ when the job has been finished and the vertical is in place.

Notice that the area immediately around the scaffolding is marked off with tape and bollards, to ensure passers-by do not hit the scaffolding or injure themselves, or put themselves in any danger.

Extremes of Fitting Signs

Here is a hair-raising sight, if you don’t like heights. Luckily the fitters who went here apparently don’t mind them so much. This is on the 15th floor of the building.

The fitters were fitting the cut out letters that you can just see behind the safety netting.

Right Tools for the Fitting Job

Constructed in several bits, this is put together on-site, and from looking at this picture, with difficulty.

With the right equipment though, and wearing the right safety gear, the sign got put up on time.

Finishing Touches

Here we can see one of the fitters putting the finishing touches to a sign on the seafront. Wearing safety gear, using the appropriate stepladders, and with gear close at hand in the van, this is how they should all work.

This is, incidentally, shortly after the new van has had it’s applied.
